Mikel Arteta is reportedly pushing the Arsenal hierarchy to sign Aston Villa's exciting talent, Morgan Rogers, as the Gunners boss looks to build on their recent success.
Following a historic domestic campaign, Arteta is determined to strengthen his squad, aiming to ensure their Premier League title win isn't a one-off. According to The Mirror, the Spanish manager made it clear to the Arsenal board after their Champions League final loss that the club needs to make "important decisions" and show genuine "ambition" to reach "another level."
Arteta's summer transfer plans are already underway, with Morgan Rogers identified as a key target. The versatile England international has had a standout season with Aston Villa under Unai Emery, attracting attention from top clubs across Europe, including PSG.
Arsenal might be able to leverage Villa's potential need to balance their financial books to secure Rogers. Arteta is said to value Rogers highly for his tactical flexibility, capable of playing as an attacking number 10 or on the left wing, fitting Arteta's preference for dynamic, multi-functional players.
This aggressive pursuit highlights Arteta's desire to capitalize on the current landscape in English football. With Pep Guardiola leaving Manchester City and other top clubs facing transitions, Arsenal has a prime opportunity to establish sustained dominance. By demanding top-tier talent like Rogers, Arteta is signaling that the Gunners intend to hold onto their crown.
